Good News!! NEW ZEALAND is all set to export the first consignment of Radiata Pinewood to INDIA after 3 years long period.

3 Years back, New Zealand Replaced METHYL BROMILDE with EDN fumigation but India stipulated that methyl bromide must be used for log imports. No other fumigants approved but New Zealand stopped using methyl bromide as it is highly restricted in New Zealand. This is a green house gas and treatment affects ozone layer.

Now, India conditionally allows import from New Zealand but on arrival at indian port, Fumigation with Methyl Bromide is must and New Zealand also agreed with this term. Hope things work out.

This is to inform that After 2021, Newzealand Pinewood first vessel arrived here in India (Kandla Port) on 14th May 2024. From now on, Newzealand Pinewood and Australia Pinewood both available here in Kandla.
